Family First
When I posted this picture of my mother and daughter on Facebook, I was unprepared for the outpouring of love, compliments and insights from all who viewed it. Everyone seemed to see the love and devotion mirrored in the contented expressions and realized that this will be a moment that I will cherish forever.
Yes, they are the two, most precious girls in my life and one of them is gracing us with her final days. We don’t know if it will be days, weeks or months – we just know that she is fading and that every moment is precious.
Since taking this photo 2 days ago and posting it on FB and getting the reaction (that, very honestly, brought me to happy tears), I have felt an unbelievable sense of peace. Even as my days are filled with business activities and there are lots of things needing my attention, I know, at my core, that all is right with the world. Even though I will be losing my best friend (yes, I do know that that is rare in a mother/daughter relationship), I will be so happy for her, as she moves into the next phase of life.
My Mom has been my role model for Good Health is Good Looking. She has always had an inner glow that radiated, attracting people to her and even in her declining health, I have been told repeatedly, of late, what a beautiful woman my mother is. That inner beauty just never fades.
She is also my longest standing customer. When I told her all those years ago (she was 71 years old, at the time), that I needed her to be my customer, for my credibility, she said very simply, “Alright dear, where do I sign?” She has been a happy customer ever since, never missing a month, loving the safer, better quality products and always looking for opportunities to enhance the lives of others by sharing the message that I shared with her.
That, of course, is only one of the many ways that my mother has supported me and helped me to believe that anything is possible. I am so thankful to be her daughter.
